We are thrilled to announce our contribution to the development of Singapore’s new healthcare infrastructure through the construction of the Eastern General Hospital (EGH) and Eastern Community Hospital (ECH). This major healthcare project, driven by Singapore’s Ministry of Health(MOH), will enhance medical services and facilities for residents in the eastern region, aiming to provide top-tier, community-centered healthcare in one of the world’s most advanced urban areas.
In a significant supply effort, CUMIC provided 3070 tons of S355JR H Beams specifically designed for construction. These beams will serve as the core structural support for the EGH and ECH buildings, designed to accommodate approximately 1,400 beds and deliver a full range of medical services from emergency and acute care to rehabilitation and palliative care. This robust infrastructure will play a vital role in supporting patient-centered healthcare for the surrounding community.
Building the hospital campus has involved overcoming complex design and engineering challenges, with a focus on incorporating sustainable practices, resilient materials, and state-of-the-art facilities to meet the diverse needs of modern healthcare delivery.
Robust Structural Support: The S355JR grade offers high yield strength, ensuring reliable structural integrity essential for the hospital’s large-scale and multifunctional facilities.
Customizable Dimensions: The beams can be customized to specific lengths and shapes, enabling flexibility to meet diverse design requirements in various types of projects.
Long-Lasting Durability: Resistant to corrosion and designed for longevity, S355JR H Beams will ensure the structural resilience of buildings for decades, reducing the need for frequent maintenance.
